Ihsan Global Relief

Ihsan Global Relief (IGR) is an international relief agency established in 2011 with the aim of helping the poor and needy throughout the world. One of the main projects we are working on currently is to establish a centre of excellence for learning the Quran with Tajweed in London. Currently we are using premises, which are being rented. We intend to purchase our own building by 2018 insha’Allah.

IGR has in the past successfully sent 2 ambulances to remote areas of Azad Kashmir, distributed food parcels in Ramadan and assisted poor students by offering them scholarships.

Purpose of the Post

We are seeking to recruit a part time fundraising officer who will play a key role in raising funds for the centre as well as raising funds for our projects in Pakistan, Egypt and Sri Lanka. The position will be based in our office in Willesden, North West London and you will be expected to work for around 15 hours per week. We anticipate the hours of work will be increased gradually making this a full time position within 6 months to a year. The salary is negotiable.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small and expanding charity. The post-holder will develop and implement a fundraising strategy to increase our income generation. The Fundraising Officer is responsible for the fundraising activity as per the set objectives and targets agreed with the Trustees. You will be expected to proactively raise funds through events, as well as through targeting individuals and groups from the local community in a measurable approach. You will assist in promoting the work of the charity online and in local and national publications and in liaising with community leaders to raise awareness of current projects. You will also be expected to increase the volunteer network.

This exciting and varied role requires a committed and responsible person with excellent communication and organisational skills. Leadership and motivational qualities are essential, as is the ability to multi-task and prioritise work. The nature of work mayentails require some out of office hours including evenings and weekends and working unsupervised.
