Allah (swt) said, “And the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) will say: “O my Lord! Verily, my people abandoned this Qur’ân (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and teachings.””
The Scholars have mentioned various types of ‘abandonment’ of the Qur’an, and one type of abandonment is to abandon pondering over it, understanding it, and seeking the explanation of it.
Have you ever wondered why Prophet Muhammad (saw) asked us to recite Surah al-Kahf every Friday?
Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: “Whoever reads Surah al-Kahf on the night of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).” (Narrated by al-Daarimi)
Many stories are mentioned in this Surah as the story of the companions of the Cave, the owner of the gardens, Musa and Khidr (as), and the narration of Dhul Qarnayn. This Surah is very blessed and contains many benefits for us so we should try our best to ponder over it and contemplate over its meaning, so that we may attain full benefit from it.
